Things I don't understand.

Some Pinoys get offended when Americans laugh at their accent, grammar or pronunciation. But the funny thing is they are the first to laugh if they hear fellow pinoy mispronounce something.

Example: Nanay Dionisia. She's been ridiculed because of her pronunciation. Come on guys. We're not native english speakers, we have an accent! Our grammar is not perfect! We mispronounce words! (I've been working on mine and still working on it! I think it'll take me 48 years to speak perfect english. I hope.)

But as long as we're trying... I think that's all that matters! Speak english. Don't worry if it's broken or something! Let's just have fun saying it and learning it!

On the other hand... I get so guilty with this... I laugh at people misspelling words. Pet peeve I guess. I can understand misspelling a few words sometimes (I admit, as much as I hate misspelled words. I misspell words sometimes).. but like 98% of the time? Come on. We all went to grade school. We know what their and there means.

Also what ticks me off more is if some Pinoys can't spell Tagalog words right. Like really? It's tulog! Not tolog. I remember I was in grade 3 and my teacher told us, if it's a two syllable tagalog word. Both with "O" sound, the first syllable is "u" and the last will be "o". And I can go on with my list of examples. Pinoys please! If you can't spell english words right.. please spell our own language correctly. I feel like there's no excuse for that. It's never too late to learn. I feel like Manuel L. Quezon is crying every time a tagalog word is murdered.

Which brings me to my last rant (like really Alchi? It's 3AM and your ranting haha! Please understand me, I talk to myself sometimes. In person and in blog.) Here we go. I've seen tons of people post something on facebook as if they're limited to 140 characters. They shortcut words so ridiculously that I can't even read it. Example: Me s0 hap 2d. Aq i nnlo ng l2. (Okay, I made that up. Tried so hard I had epistaxis.)  Guys, please! I'm begging you! Spell the word out! It wont hurt your freaking fingers typing a few more extra characters! Plus you'll make my life so easy. (I know, I only think of myself.)

P.S Somebody added me on facebook. I checked her profile and this is what I saw. In case you're wondering, I didn't accept her request. I don't want to make my life harder by decoding whatever status she will post.
